May Offerings

We interrupt the From Our Hands and Hearts travelogue to bring you my belated May Offerings.

Spring is here and summer isn’t far behind! One day soon I will be planting the garden… My inspiration this month is that lovely fragrant flower that symbolizes purity, silence and devotion. That purple flower that promotes calm, rest and happiness and may even help alleviate headaches ~ LAVENDER…

My first offering is a windowsill pillow based on a sweet design by Sub Rosa. This cross-stitched piece features hand-dyed linen and hand-dyed floss. It is accented with a coordinating cotton and is backed with the same fabric.

Along the seam I have added some embroidered lavender details. As with all of my creations, it is completely hand stitched. It measures approximately 3 inches tall by 12 inches long. This windowsill pillow is stuffed with a combination of natural cotton batting and dried lavender. Perfect sitting on a windowsill or tucked in a cupboard.
Lavender Windowsill Pillow is offered at $35.

The next in the series “Lavender Flower Pillow” features yet another coordinating design by Sub Rosa. It measures approximately 4 by 5 inches. It is accented with a coordinating cotton and is backed with the same fabric.

Along the seam I have added some embroidered lavender details.

Completely hand stitched, this pillow is stuffed with a combination of sawdust and dried lavender giving it a firm feel and soothing fragrance.
~*Sold. Thank you ever so much!*~

“Lavender Girl Pinkeep” features a coordinating design by Sub Rosa. It measures approximately 4 by 4 inches. Completely hand stitched, it is stuffed with a combination of crushed walnut shells and dried lavender giving it a nice weight and soothing fragrance.

My final offering in this series is “Key to the Garden Gate”. This fob has a firm wooden base inside and is backed with wool. It is based on a design by The Primitive Jewel. It measures approximately 2 by 3.5 inches and features a lovely hand-dyed lavender perle cotton edging stitch. The key can be removed if you prefer to attach it to your favorite sewing scissors.
“Key to the Garden Gate” is offered at $20.

I love what you said about lavender symbolizing purity, silence, and devotion. We had lavender buds tossed at our wedding instead of the usual rice.

Your work is beautiful.
